Student Support
Student Support Services in The Upper School
Overview
A team of staff comprising the English Additional Language specialist, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, Teachers’ Assistants, Counsellor and University Guidance Counsellor provide additional support and guidance for students.
These services include in-class support in various curriculum areas by a small team of teachers’ assistants; mainstream class withdrawal to support the development of English language skills for second language learners; and counselling of students on personal, social and academic issues.
Throughout the course of the year students are offered short courses and workshops to support the development of study skills, language skills, stress management, organisation and time management.
Additional recommendations for suitable classroom accommodations are shared with mainstream teachers as appropriate to individual students.
Parents are welcome to contact the appropriate member of the support team should they require advice.
